As the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) continues its mission to ensure a vibrant and sustainable livestock and poultry sector in the Philippines, I reiterate our commitment to animal health, food safety, food security and industry development.

BAI plays a crucial role in safeguarding animal health, particularly through our nationwide surveillance and control of diseases such as African Swine Fever (ASF), Avian Influenza (AI) and Rabies. This year, we have reinforced our laboratory systems, strengthened our surveillance and monitoring and intensified our border security measures to protect our livestock and poultry industry.

Aligned with the Department of Agriculture’s "Masaganang Agrikultura, Maunlad na Ekonomiya" framework, we are also advancing programs on genetic improvement, sustainable animal production and international market access. Through our programs and projects, we aim to empower local farmers, producers and position the Philippines as a competitive player in the global animal industry.

The BAI remains committed in its service to the Filipino people, upholding the highest standard of professionalism, integrity and innovation. As we move forward, I call on all stakeholders, from farmers and producers to the academe and consumers, to work with us in building a safe, healthy and prosperous animal industry.
