PHL, Russia strengthens livestock and poultry relations

Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) OIC-Director Reildrin Morales met with Russian Federation Ministry of Agriculture in the Republic of Philippines Representative Arseniy Astapenko on October 5, 2022 at the Office of the Director, BAI Compound, Brgy. Vasra, Quezon City.

The meeting tackled the Philippines-Russia livestock and poultry relations, specifically related to Avian Influenza (AI), African Swine Fever (ASF) and meat bone meal. Director Morales agreed in principle, to meet with the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) delegation at beginning of next year to further discuss Philippines-Russia agriculture connections.

Attendees included BAI-National Veterinary Quarantine Services Division (NVQSD) Chief Dr. Jose Eduardo David, NVQSD Animal Disease Control Section Veterinarian Dr. Maria Glofezita Lagayan and Department of Agriculture-International Affairs Division (DA-IAD) Europe Desk Foreign Affairs Specialist Ms. Rivka Hanna Pintuan. ###
