Meat Products
All travelers who intend to bring meat into the Philippines for personal or non-commercial use are required to follow rules and regulations pursuant to BAI Memorandum Circular 48, Series of 2021.
Travelers are advised to secure the necessary regulatory permits or other required documents before arriving to different ports of entry in the Philippines to avoid confiscation of products.
Processed fully heat-treated meat products, including canned meat, regardless of weight from countries free from transboundary animal diseases (TAD) (e.g. African Swine Fever, High Pathogenicity Avian Influenza, and Foot and Mouth Disease)
- SPS Import Clearance is NOT REQUIRED
- Meat and meat products from countries affected with TADs shall be immediately confiscated and disposed at the port of entry
Processed but uncooked meat products (e.g. salted, cured, in brine, smoked, marinated, etc) from countries free from TADs
- SPS Import Clearance is NOT REQUIRED
- Documents to be presented: Veterinary Health Certificate, proof of purchase, or any valid document indicating the source of origin
- A maximum weight of 10 kilograms per passenger is only allowed
- Meat and meat products from countries affected with TADs shall be immediately confiscated and disposed at the port of entry
Unpocessed meat products (e.g. frozen meat)
- SPS Import Clearance is REQUIRED. Any quantity of unprocessed meat products must be accompanied by an approved SPS Import Clearance
- Documents to be presented: Veterinary Health Certificate, proof of purchase, or any valid document indicating the source of origin
- Meat and meat products from countries without approved SPS Import Clearance from the port of entry shall be immediately confiscated and disposed at the port of entry
